Lately, I spoke to a friend who had just returned from Australia after working there for a good 10 years.
I asked how she was adjusting to life back in Singapore and I wasn’t too surprise to hear her answer.
She said she missed home.
Instinctively, I knew what she was referring to as I noted a tinge of despair and then there was a pause.
I told her to give herself some time and she cited another friend who took about a year to full adjust back to life in Singapore.
Well, I told her I can identify with her, though I’m not sure how it feels like to be away for 10 years.

From time to time, I still miss many things. I wonder if it’s because I was young and carefree?
But I sure miss the CityCat, the weather, the bridge, the ocean and the long night walks.
You know, that feeling of being in the CityCat as it passes the bridge, especially in winter, gives off a really special feeling. So if you are in Brisbane City somehow please just do this for one night.
Everything now is but a distant memory 🙂
